US President Joe Biden is due to deliver a significant speech on protecting voting rights later on Tuesday.
His move comes as Republicans seek to pass an election bill that would impose new restrictions on voting
But dozens of Democrats in the Texas legislature have flown to Washington, DC to thwart the Republicans’ attempt.
Two-thirds of the legislators must be present for voting to be carried out.
