An estimated 40,000 children are living in the al-Hol and Roj refugee camps in northeast Syria, where violence is a daily threat along with illness and malnutrition.
Save the Children says the situation is getting worse, with 62 children dying of different causes so far this year.
The NGO and the United Nations are calling for some 60 countries to repatriate their citizens from the camps to alleviate the suffering.
Al Jazeera's Zeina Khodr reports.
