Millions of people in Syria have been left homeless by deadly earthquakes, with nowhere to shelter in the middle of winter.

Many of the affected areas are rebel-held, where blockades have been imposed by President Bashar al-Assad.

As Redmond Shannon reports, Assad is now allowing the delivery of relief aid into these communities, but it remains a significant challenge delivering supplies and help to Syrians in need.
