The Sudan Doctors Union says the number of civilians killed in the country's conflict has risen to 833. Thousands more have been injured in little more than a month of fighting.
According to witnesses, southern parts of the capital, Khartoum, have come under heavy bombardment.
The intense fighting follows a rare sighting of army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan meeting his troops.

Al Jazeera’s Hiba Morgan reports from Khartoum, Sudan.
