The United Nations is warning the ongoing crisis in Sudan could result in more than 800,000 people fleeing the country, with over 100,000 refugees estimated to be among those who have already fled to neighbouring countries.

"Without a quick resolution of this crisis we will continue to see more people forced to flee in search of safety and basic assistance," UN Assistant High Commissioner for Refugees Raouf Mazou said.

According to the International Organization for Migration, at least 334,000 have also been internally displaced by the ongoing conflict. Spokesperson Paul Dillon said the number displaced in just the past two weeks exceeds all conflict-related displacements recorded in Sudan in 2022.
