Al Jazeera’s Step Vaessen reported there is “a lot anger here on the streets of Colombo”.
At the prime minister’s office, “police fired tear gas and water cannons”, she said.
“You can see that a lot of military and police is now on the streets. They’re blocking the areas of the elites,” she said.
