Some provinces lower age eligibility for Oxford-AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine

Ontario and Alberta are among the provinces to lower the age eligibility for Oxford-AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine.

The move came just hours after Canada’s federal health minister said provinces were “free to use” the vaccine on any age groups aged 18 and above, despite a recommendation from the country’s National Advisory Committee on Immunization not to give the vaccine to anyone under age 55.

It also comes amid reports that large amounts of the vaccine are set to expire. Heather Yourex-West reports
