The blue skies in Edmonton were quickly blanketed by thick smoke on Thursday, bringing with it a strong smell and potentially serious health concerns.
The air quality in the Alberta capital hit 7 or higher on the air quality index which is considered high-risk.
As Global's Morgan Black reports, the smoke from wildfires in B.C. and Saskatchewan mixed with extreme heat has doctors telling vulnerable people to stay inside.
