Cambria Harris hasn't had the chance to grieve the loss of her mother. She’s been too busy fighting for action for missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. Two weeks ago she learned her mom, 39-year-old Morgan Harris, was one of four Indigenous women Winnipeg police believe were killed by Jeremy Skibicki.

She remembers marching in Winnipeg as a teenager and holding a sign reading "I will not be next," when 15-year-old Tina Fontaine's body was found in 2014. She could not have known then that eight years later her mother would be a homicide victim. Now Harris wants people to ask themselves why more isn’t being done to solve the ongoing Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls crisis.
