Salmonella is often linked to improperly-cooked meat, but there's also a concern when it comes to animals. A recent spike in cases has been linked to snakes and rodents, according to Health Canada.
As Katherine Ward reports, 45 people became sick with salmonella between February 2022 and March 2023, with cases stretching right across Canada — including one death.
