A recent investigation by Human Rights Watch accuses the Rwandan government of trying to silence opponents - even those living overseas - using tactics ranging from kidnapping to extrajudicial killing.

The government in Kigali has denied the claims, calling it a "distorted picture of Rwanda which exists only in their imagination".
