Footage has been released of over 400 Russian peacekeeping troops being deployed to the troubled Nagorno-Karabakh region.

The disputed area has been the scene of bloody conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia in recent weeks.

So far, twenty Il-76 military transport aircraft have airlifted more than 400 members of the 15th Peacekeeping Brigade and their equipment to Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, before the troops moved on to Nagorno-Karabakh.

An armistice between Armenia and Azerbaijan went into effect at midnight on Tuesday, Moscow time. Under the terms of the peace deal, 1,960 Russian troops and hundreds of vehicles will replace Armenian forces in the region.
