Russia-Ukraine war: A timeline of the year-long conflict

It has been one year since Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered his troops into Ukraine, launching a full-scale invasion of the neighbouring country.

The world has watched as Western nations rallied around Ukraine with financial and military aid, resulting not only in the defence of the capital Kyiv, but a significant counteroffensive that led to Ukrainian troops regaining territory.

As the war has raged on, investigators have revealed evidence of war crimes in formerly Russian-occupied towns. The war has also sparked supply-chain concerns over grain shipments and worries about a looming energy crisis.
