Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau held a media availability on Thursday after meetings with NATO and G7 leaders in Brussels.

He announced Canada will provide up to 3.400 troops to NATO’s response forces amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Trudeau said Canada is also imposing new bans on the export of certain goods and technologies to Russia in an attempt to limit its ability to wage war in Ukraine.

He also said Canada will sanction additional 160 members of the Russian federal council, which brings the total number of individuals sanctioned by Canada to over 900.

NATO will deploy four new battlegroups to Eastern European countries including Bulgaria, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania.
