Rehman Chishti lays out his election plans

Rehman Chishti has laid out his pitch for leader of the Conservative Party.

Like many other candidates, he says his ambition would be to lower taxes, and he told Sky News he wants to make sure there is a "merit-based system" to allow people to flourish.

Currently, no MPs have publicly backed the Gillingham MP, who is a junior minister in the Foreign Office.
