Following Dominic Raab's resignation, Alex Chalk has been appointed as the new Justice Secretary, Sky News understands.

Currently serving as a Defence Minister, he will move to head up the Ministry of Justice, having been first elected as the Conservative MP for Cheltenham in May 2015.
