Queen Elizabeth met with representatives from the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery (RCA) at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, Oct. 6.
The Queen and the Captain-General of the 1st Regiment of the RCA, known as the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, presented ‘the Captain General’s Sword’ to the solders.
The sword is awarded annually to an officer from each RCA’s regular and reserve forces.
The visit commemorates the 150th anniversary of the foundation of A and B Batteries of the RCA, the first post-Confederation forces of the Canadian army.
