With Canada's Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland attending question period in the House of Commons on Thursday, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre asked whether Prime Minister Justin Trudeau informed the Commissioner of Canada Elections to instigate an investigation after he became aware of allegations of illegal foreign funding.

In response, Freeland said Canada's national securities agencies are actively monitoring threats some regimes around the world pose. Poilievre also asserted that the government does not have a climate plan, but they do have a tax plan, saying their plan has yet to reach a single greenhouse gas emissions target and asking them to cancel their "carbon tax" and come up with a real plan.

Freeland retorted, saying that the Conservatives do not have a plan to tackle climate change, "which means (Poilievre) doesn't have a plan to grow the Canadian economy," she said.

Facing repeated questions from the Conservatives that the government would "triple, triple, triple" taxes on groceries, home heating and gas, Freeland stated that "inflation has now fallen or remained flat for four months in a row — and that is good news for Canadians."
