The war between Israel and Hamas is nearing the four-month mark. This week, the U.S. accused Iran-backed groups of launching a drone strike that killed three American service members in Jordan, stoking fears the conflict could spill into the region. The U.S. began retaliatory air strikes on sites in Iraq and Syria in response to the killings last week.

This as the war abroad is also playing out domestically -- President Biden on Thursday took an unprecedented step of signing an executive order sanctioning Israeli settlers who have committed violence against Palestinians in the Occupied West Bank. And protesters across the U.S. have taken to city halls to call for a cease-fire in Gaza.
