This week, Israel rescued four hostages from Gaza in an operation that left more than 270 Palestinians dead. Hamas formally responds to a U.S. cease-fire proposal backed by Israel and asks for several amendments, including a timeline on a permanent cease-fire and full Israeli withdrawal.
