Passengers complain of delays after airport e-gates stop working nationwide

The Bank Holiday weekend and start of the school half term has got off to a rocky start for many people looking to go away.

It comes after a technical problem caused electronic gates at ports and airports to stop working late on Friday, meaning all passengers had to be processed through staffed desks.

The Home Office said the issue had been resolved in a statement at around 6pm on Saturday.
