The 2020 Summer Olympics has now officially started in Tokyo after being delayed for a year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
There were only a handful of dignitaries at the opening ceremony because of COVID restrictions, but plenty of the usual fireworks and fanfare.
Al Jazeera's Andy Richardson reports from Tokyo, Japan.
