Eight people in Pakistan were thrust into a dangerous situation when the cable car they were traveling on became stuck, dangling precariously high above a ravine for hours.

The incident happened in a remote, mountainous part of the country, about 200 kilometres north of Pakistan’s capital city, Islamabad.

Crystal Goomansingh explains what went wrong, and how crews were able to safely rescue all the passengers.
