An Orangeville, Ontario Hyundai dealership is refusing to take any responsibility after thieves stole a catalytic converter from one of its customers’ vehicles while it was in for service.
“It’s out of our control. We don’t control theft,” said Phil Richards, dealer principle of Orangeville Hyundai and Orangeville Kia.
“It’s going to cost me,” said Diane Reid, owner of the car said. Her daughter, Jamie-Lee Higginson was told a replacement unit could cost about $2,000 plus installation.
As Sean O’Shea reports, the dealership is blaming the customers for posting a negative Facebook review and for telling other customers to beware.
