1. U.S. President Joe Biden signed an order imposing new vaccine requirements for most foreign national air travelers and lifting severe travel restrictions on China, India and much of Europe effective Nov. 8, the White House said.

2. Two people were killed and four others, including a police officer, were injured on Monday in a shooting at a shopping center in Boise, Idaho, that ended with the lone suspect taken into custody, authorities said.

3. The leaders of most of the world's biggest greenhouse gas emitters gather in Glasgow, aiming to thrash out plans and funds to tilt the planet towards clean energy. But the man running the biggest of them all likely won't be there.

4. Japan's Princess Mako, the emperor's niece, married her college sweetheart, giving up her royal title and saying she was determined to build a happy life with her "irreplaceable" husband after a tumultuous engagement.

5. Roads were blocked, shops were shut, phones were down and mosque loudspeakers blared calls for a general strike in Sudan, a day after the army seized power in a coup that triggered unrest in which at least seven people were killed.
