Oak fire, California’s largest so far this season, explodes in size

The Oak fire started Friday near Midpines and has spread to more than 14,000 acres as of 7 a.m. Sunday. Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency for Mariposa County on Saturday due to the effects of the fire.
