World number one tennis star Novak Djokovic is being held in an Australian quarantine hotel after his entry visa was suddenly revoked.

He had claimed medical exemption from the Covid vaccine requirement in order to play in the Australian Open.

That provoked a furious backlash in the country, which has endured the world's longest cumulative lockdown and is battling a surge of Omicron cases.

His lawyers are now trying to stop him getting deported.
