Niger sanctions trigger shortages: Niamey faces basic provision scarcity

Three hundred trucks bringing supplies to landlocked Niger have arrived in the capital Niamey.
The convoy was delayed at the border with Burkina Faso because of attacks by armed groups.
Niger has been struggling with shortages since ECOWAS imposed sanctions over last month’s coup.
But the supplies may not be enough.
