Junior doctors have begun a 96-hour walkout as they ask for "pay restoration" to bring salaries back to 2008 levels, equivalent to a 35% pay rise.

Between 2008 and 2022, junior doctors’ pay rose by nearly 20%, whilst consumer prices increased much further, by a total of 40%.
