Netflix will be putting an end to its most affordable ad-free subscription in Canada and the U.K. in the second quarter of 2024, making Britons and Canadians the first in the world to no longer have the “Basic plan” option.

The decision comes as people are facing difficult decisions on cutting household budgets, amid inflationary pressures.

The streaming giant will have their Basic plan option wind down at a later date for other international markets.

As Kyle Benning reports, price changes might alter how we choose to watch our favourite shows and movies.
