NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh announced on Monday that the party had tabled an opposition motion calling on David Johnston to step aside as Canada's special rapporteur, with the motion expected to be debated Tuesday.
"Given the clear appearance of bias, given the mounting appearance of bias, particularly given the track record or the donating record of the chief council he engaged due to his work ... it is very clear that the appearance of bias is so high that it erodes the work of the special rapporteur," Singh said.
Singh said the motion will also include a call, once more, for a public inquiry into foreign interference.
