Vladimir Ashurkov says the sentencing of Alexei Navalny to more than two years in jail "on totally falsified charges" will get many people in Russia "agitated" and more protests will take place.

The executive director of the Anti-Corruption Foundation calls the sentencing "a sign of weakness" on the part of Russian authorities and says Navalny knows "he will prevail eventually".

"It was such a blatant mockery of justice," he says.
