Military takeover: Coup leaders suspend constitution

In Niger where the military junta has suspended the constitution and dissolved all state agencies.

It comes hours after the head of the presidential guard named himself leader of a transitional government, after Wednesday's coup.
Abdourahmane Tchiani made the announcement on state-run TV, saying the intervention was necessary to avoid the demise of Niger.
Tchiani didn't mention a timeline for return to civilian leadership.
