Moroccan riot police clashed with hundreds of migrants in the border town of Fnideq on Wednesday after thousands had been expelled from Spain's Ceuta, an enclave that has periodically been a magnet for refugees seeking a quick way into Europe.

People were reportedly seen lighting a motorbike and rubbish bin on fire and throwing stones.

Earlier in the day, thousands of migrants had forced their way past tightened security in Ceuta, even as Spain pressed on with expelling those who swam or climbed into its North African enclave.
