Roads minister Richard Holden says the barges migrants are set to be held on are "not a type of prison", but in some areas, people will not be allowed out of the port area where the vessels are moored.

Mr Holden says the barges would be used alongside disused military bases to hold people who have arrived in the UK on small boats.
