Microsoft’s workspace chat and videoconference service experienced an outage Friday, silencing work chatter for thousands of users.
Close to 15,000 incidents with Microsoft Teams were logged on outage tracking website Downdetector.com as of 3 p.m. ET.
Microsoft said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that it had identified a “networking issue impacting a portion of the Teams Service,” though it's not clear what caused the issue.
As Ahmar Khan reports, experts say the outage should prompt workplaces to come up with a strategy when technologies they use go dark.
