The winter snow storm that hit southern Quebec quickly turned into rain, making for a slushy, sloppy mess outdoors on Wednesday.
Wet, heavy snow and strong winds closed schools and cut power to thousands, while clearing operations are underway after being postponed earlier in the week from Sunday’s snowfall — but the sloppy conditions are hindering work efforts.
With all the pooling water, it’s a race against time as temperatures are expected to drop overnight.
