1. A Russian armored column bore down on Ukraine's capital Kyiv on Tuesday and invasion forces fired rocket barrages into the centre of the country's second largest city, on the sixth day of Russia's assault on its western neighbor.

2. Dozens of diplomats from the European Union (EU), United States and Britain walked out of a speech by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to the top U.N. human rights forum.

3. For millions of Ukrainians, the Russian invasion five days ago brought death, terror and uncertainty. For Mila Hadzieva, an IT manager in the western city of Lviv, it brought a searing clarity of purpose.

4. Shipping giant Maersk will temporarily halt all container shipping to and from Russia, deepening the country’s isolation as its invasion of Ukraine sparks an exodus of Western companies.

5. A man shot and killed his three children and a fourth person before taking his own life in an outburst of gun violence that unfolded in a church near California's capital, police said.
