A federal court has now refused to hear the case of Maj.-Gen. Dany Fortin, who is fighting to get his job back as head of logistics for Canada's COVID-19 vaccine roll-out.

Fortin was abruptly removed from the high-profile position in May, following an allegation of sexual misconduct against him dating back more than 30 years.

In regards to the latest decision, the federal court didn't rule on the merits of the case, but rather on how Fortin chose to fight it, saying he should have used the military's internal grievance process instead. Mike Le Couteur looks at how Fortin lost the first round of the legal battle, and where it goes from here.
