London, Ont. police investigating reports of sexual violence at Western University

Police in London, Ont., are investigating reports of sexual violence at Western University in southwestern Ontario over the weekend.

Social media posts over the weekend suggested as many as 30 young women who live in an on-campus residence had been allegedly subjected to gender-based violence.

Officials at Western say they have increased security on campus and in student residences, adding that the school will not tolerate sexual violence. Last week was Orientation Week at the university.

Chris Alleyne, associate vice-president of housing and ancillary services, says the school has not received any formal complaint from alleged victims. Catherine McDonald reports from the campus, to find out how students are feeling.
