Conservative Party Co-Chair Oliver Dowden MP says that Labour does not have the momentum to form a government.

Mr Dowden acknowledged that "we have had some difficult results" losing Wandsworth Council, while highlighting gains outside of London in Hartlepool, Thurrock and Nuneaton.

He also blamed an "inevitable" mid-term slump, but said this was not a reason to think that Labour could win the next general election.
