On Friday, about 2,000 asylum seekers escaped from a detention centre west of the Libyan capital Tripoli.
Guards at the centre shot and killed six people.
Meanwhile the UNHCR’s community services centre was forced to close after being overwhelmed by hundreds of people seeking assistance and resettlement.
Many asylum seekers in Libya are in a holding pattern, unable to move on because of the suspension of humanitarian flights almost a year ago.
