The family of a prominent Saudi women's rights activist Loujain al-Hathloul says it will appeal her jail sentence of five years and eight months
She has been in detention since 2018 after being found guilty for conspiring against the Saudi royal family.
Best known for campaigning for women's right to drive, al-Hathloul has about two months left to serve after a court suspended her sentence.
Analysts say this move was timed to avoid drawing condemnation from incoming President Joe Biden.

Al Jazeera’s Laura Burdon-Manley reports.
