A new lava channel has appeared after a second cone partially collapsed from Spain's La Palma volcano on Monday, according to a volcano scientist.

Volcanologist Itahiza Dominguez said the collapse has led to a large flow of lava gushing from the volcano early on Monday, saying it is early to know whether it would affect new areas.

"There is nothing that tells us that it [the volcano eruption] could end, there is no data to indicate that volcanic activity is decreasing," he said, as the Cumbre Vieja volcano spurted out more lava and fire on Monday, the eruption in its second month.
