A kitten was rescued by firefighters from a burning building in Kharkiv recently after a rocket attack set both a restaurant and hotel complex ablaze.

Emergency services released video showing the kitten being pulled from under a twisted pile of metal chairs close to burning timbers, before it was washed down and handed to volunteers.

More than 50 firefighters were involved in extinguishing the blaze affecting an area said to be around 2,200 square metres — 23,680 sq. ft., according to the Ukrainian State Emergency Service.

The video was released on Sept. 4, however Reuters could not independently verify the date it was shot.
