King Charles III led his siblings in holding a vigil for their mother, standing guard on all four sides of her coffin as she lay in state in Westminster Hall on Friday evening.

Charles, alongside The Princess Royal, the Duke of York and the Earl of Wessex, descended stairs into the hall after the long queue to see the queen took a pause as her children entered. After taking their guard around the coffin, the queue was able to resume with Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward bowing their heads as people filed by with the King appearing to look emotional.

After approximately 15 minutes, the family then marched off up another set of stairs, again led by the King, as the queue once again paused for their departure.
