The coffin of Queen Elizabeth II is resting in the Bow Room of Buckingham Palace ahead of the journey to Westminster Hall on Wednesday for lying-in-rest ahead of the state funeral on Monday.
King Charles will lead the procession behind the gun carriage carrying Queen Elizabeth's coffin from Buckingham Palace to the Palace of Westminster. Princes William and Harry will also accompany the coffin to Westminster on foot.
Crowds will be able to watch as the cortege makes the journey through central London - along Queen's Gardens, The Mall, Horse Guards and Horse Guards Arch, Whitehall, Parliament Street, Parliament Square and New Palace Yard.
The Archbishop of Canterbury will conduct a short service attended by members of the royal family, after which the lying-in-state will begin. The queen will be guarded 24-hours-a-day by soldiers from units that serve the Royal Household.
Members of the public will have the opportunity to pay their respects to the queen, with huge crowds expected to turn out on this and subsequent days. People have been warned that the queues could last for up to 30 hours. Support services will be out in force, and a massive security operation is being rolled out.
