Security forces in Kazakhstan say they’ve killed dozens of “anti-government rioters” amid a fresh eruption of violence in the capital city of Almaty that saw demonstrators storm government buildings, setting them on fire.

A state of emergency is in effect in Kazakhstan as protests over rising fuel prices have continued to escalate. Now, Russia has stepped in, sending paratroopers in a bid to end the unrest.

As Redmond Shannon reports, the president claims foreign-trained terrorists are responsible for the tumult.
