Chaos continues to reign across Kazakhstan as the government resigns and protesters storm mayoral offices, local businesses, and administrative buildings in major cities.

Nationwide demonstrations were sparked after the price of liquefied petroleum gas in the oil-producing state more than doubled in a matter of days.

Almaty, the nation’s largest city and former Kazakh capital, was the most ravaged in the rage over the fuel-price hike, with the storming of the mayoral office, over 200 protesters detained and, allegedly, some even opening fire on local police.
