The British Medical Association (BMA) will stage a 96-hour walkout over a pay dispute with the government. BMA members are demanding a 35% salary increase to bring patient numbers back to net zero after a 26% drop in their salaries since 2008.

Dr Sumi Manirajan, the Deputy co-chair of the BMA Junior Doctors Committee, said that the UK is losing staff as it is no longer sustainable to be a doctor in the country.

The strike is an escalation of the ongoing row between the BMA and the government.
